HE Joko Widodo Closes the B20 of G20 Indonesia Presidency

Marves - Bali Nusa Dua, 15th November 2022 – Leaders of G20, the Global premier economic forum, meets in Bali to find ways on how G20 can work together, along with International organisations, including: WB, IMF, FAO, OECD, etc. to find common approaches to tackle global issues. Issues high in the agenda discussion include to sustain development, to mitigate and minimis risk associate with food and energy security, post COVID-19 challenges and the ongoing conflict that are causing high inflation globally.
HE President of European Commission Mrs Ursula von der Leyen repeatedly sends appreciation to Indonesia Chairmanship and expressed her respect to the leadership of HE Joko Widodo.
During negotiation for the Indonesia and European Union bilateral agreement, HE Von der Leyen stated, “I hope we could advance our preparation on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and I hope it will come out successfully.”
HE Mr Jokowi mentioned that “the next 12th round of negotiation will take place at the end of this year so both parties can bring together on goods provision, SMEs and exportation taxes issues.”
This time around, as Cambodia has handed over ASEAN Chairmanship to the Republic of Indonesia few days ago, Indonesia has stated readiness to continue discussing regional and multilateral issues affecting on the Southeast Asia region. Indonesia wishes to ensure the ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific will deliver concrete results.
The G20 Summit hopefully can come up with an agreement on appropriate fiscal and monetary policies to help restore confidence and build a better investment atmosphere, which can create confidence.
Meanwhile, as a presidency of the G20, Indonesia would like to demonstrate Bali as a good destination, stable and in a strong recovery, largely due to a return of tourism to Indonesia and the recovery of the Balinese economy.
