Hundreds of Medical Personnel Ready to Deliver Health Care for G20 Summit Delegates

Marves - Denpasar, November 10, 2022 – Medical personnel in Bali Province are ready to deliver health care for G20 Summit delegates on November 15-16, 2022. They consist of medical specialists, general practitioners, and nurses with a total of 408 people.

Before serving for the G20 health team, they have received a number of trainings, including carrying out emergency simulations. Those medical personnel will be stationed at several locations according to the conference agenda, at a number of referral hospitals, referral clinics, as well as several hotels where the delegates stay.

"We have chosen the best medical personnel for the G20 Summit in Bali," Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office I Nyoman Gede Anom said when meeting the G20 Communications and Media Team, Thursday, Nov. 10.

According to him, the health service facilities for the G20 Summit that will be prepared include four mini Intensive Care Units (ICU), 23 clinics, and 13 mobile medical teams. Main doctors assigned for each team, especially for VVIP and VIP guests, are cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and general practitioners.

Furthermore, seven hospitals are appointed as referral hospitals for the Summit delegates, namely the IGN Ngurah Central General Hospital, Bali Mandara Regional General Hospital, Udayana University General Hospital, Siloam, BIMC Nusa Dua, Bhayangkara, and Udayana Level II Hospital.

All hospitals, clinics, mini ICUs, and mobile medical teams are connected to the command center, a communication center located at the ITDC Nusa Dua compound. All communication activities and health services are fully monitored.

Anom also explained that a total of 1,350 hospital beds are prepared in all G20 referral hospitals. This number of beds includes those prepared for guests/delegates who require special treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and isolation rooms for Covid-19 patients.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Siloam and Surya Husada Hospitals in Nusa Dua said that they are ready to provide the best health services. CEO of Siloam Hospital Bali dr. Meike and Medical Manager of Surya Husada Hospital dr. Panca stated that they are proud to be listed as G20 referral hospitals. "We have prepared the best medical team for the G20 Summit guests," said Panca.

The Indonesian warship (KRI) Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo is also standby in the waters around Nusa Dua area. It is a hospital ship of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) which will fully supports with emergency services for guests as well as G20 VVIP and VIP delegates.

Anom said that his party would continue coordination for more preparations and conduct joint simulations aimed at handling an emergency situation according to the prepared procedure.
